A surprise proposal in downtown Austin, TX.
This proposal took coordination from many family members to pull off, and it was fabulous! Jon reached out a few weeks before his plan to propose to his lovely girlfriend Lorena. We went over a few location options and landed on Butterfly Bridge just behind the Austin Central Library as it was one of the locations I could be the most discreet as I waited to capture the proposal. Plus it is one of my favorite locations downtown to take photos. It has a great mixture of natural and industrial elements, and the lighting is usually beautiful in the evenings.
His family came out early before they arrived to the bridge to set up a little table with flowers and champagne so they could have a little celebratory moment for the just the two of them after he popped the question. It was such a thoughtful touch for the moment. What's even better, is that after we finished taking their engagement portraits the dinner she thought they had planned was actually a surprise party with all of their family and friends. Lorena was so moved by the double dose of surprises that night. And it was truly heartwarming to see the outpour of love and support they received from so many wonderful people in their lives.
Cheers, Jon & Lorena!
